AMBER TOWNSHIP — The staff of Century 21 Bayshore Real Estate recently purchased 30 hams and donated them to local law enforcement agencies to distribute to families in need during Christmas.

Bayshore owner Kevin Leavitt, a former Michigan State Police lieutenant, said he has asked the law enforcement officers to use their discretion. “I know from experience that police officers see families during the holidays that they wish they could help out a bit,” Leavitt said. “This is just a way for law enforcement to make sure that a family in need at least has a dinner on Christmas together.”

Agencies that were given hams include Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, and Ludington Police Department.
