LUDINGTON — The Michigan State Police is conducting an event this Friday, “Stuff a Blue Goose for Christmas,” to benefit those less fortunate in Mason and Oceana counties.

The blue goose is the MSP patrol car. “We have long referred to our patrol cars as a ‘blue goose,’ and hope to stuff them full of new toys, new clothing and non-perishable food,'” said Community Service Trooper Dan Thomas. “We will have have Michigan State Police patrol cars situated at the Walmart store in Ludington.” MSP will staff the “blue geese” with troopers from the Hart post this Friday, Dec. 16, from 2-8 p.m.

“Our goal is to gather as many new toys, new clothing and non-perishable food items as possible in this six-hour period,” Thomas said. “All of the items gathered will be turned over to the Salvation Army and Toys for Tots. The items will be distributed to families in need in Mason and Oceana counties.”

For more information, contact Trooper Thomas at the Hart post at 231-873-2121.
