Leon Clifford Kenfield, 77, of Custer, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2016

Leon was born to the late Carl Grienke and Berthanada Kenfield on June 6, 1939.

Leon attended Montague High School and graduated with the class of 1958. He went into the Air Force right out of high school. He spent many years drafting in the automotive industry. He remained active duty and retired as a veteran. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Leon is survived by his son Gregory Kenfield; daughter Melissa (Mark) Bryant; grandchildren: Amanda Kenfield, Joshua Baxter and Vanessa Baxter; great-grandchildren: Landon Baxter and Aiden Ladra; sisters: Sondra (Joe) Bowman, Sally Lauber and Naydene (Ken) Lipps; brothers: Owen O’Brien and Harry O’Brien.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Johnsen; brother-in law Jack Lauber Jr.; nephews: Kenneth Lipps Jr. and Michael Bowman; and niece Renee Armstrong.

A service will be held in memory of Leon at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington on Monday, October 17, 2016 at noon. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service.

Memorial contributions in memory of Leon may be directed to the American Legion of Ludington.
