Police dog rescues autistic boy lost in the woods.

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — Cash, Mason County Sheriff’s Office K-9, rescued a 4-year-old autistic boy who was lost in the woods Thursday afternoon, Oct. 6.

Police were dispatched at 3:58 p.m. to a report of a missing 4-year-old boy in the 4000 block of North Forest Lane, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. The 911 caller, who is the child’s mother, reported her son had been missing for 15 minutes.

“K-9 Cash was contacted and located the child approximately three-quarters of a mile back in the woods,” Cole said. “The child refused to walk back with the deputy but befriended Cash who led the boy out of the woods.”
