#MasonCountyDeaths

On September 4, 2016, worlds were shattered, and dreams were crushed, but a soul was set free.

Wesley Allen Bud Skinner, 25, of Scottville was tragically taken away from his family and friends in an auto accident.

Wesley was born on June 22, 1991, son of Richard L. Skinner and Katrina E. (Young) Skinner.

Growing up, Wesley formed many hobbies from hunting and fishing to watching football and ridding his three-wheeler.  But Wes’ most favorite hobby was raising his boys and teaching them all the trades of life.  He loved spending most of his time with his boys at Grandpa Rick Skinner’s.  He loved helping Grandpa around the property and fishing with his grandpa every other Sunday in the summer for the Tear Drop Bass Fishing Tournament Trail.

Wesley graduated with the class of 2009 from Mason County Central High School in Scottville.  He continued his education at Lincoln Tech University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in automotive and diesel mechanics.  He was employed at Cone Drive Operations as a machinist and also at Kelder Poured Walls in Scottville.

Wesley is survived by his high school sweetheart and fiancé, Tiffany Christmas, of Scottville; two sons: Easton and Beau Skinner of Scottville; godson, Bretley Shafer of Scottville; mother, Katrina (Nate Kilmer) Skinner of Petoskey; father, Richard (Rebecca) Skinner of Free Soil; two brothers: Alex (Kaitie Clark) Skinner of Fountain, and Trever Skinner of Scottville; sister, Shelby Carver of Free Soil; grandparents: Sue Adamski of Manistee, Rick and Jeanne Skinner of Branch and Mert Tyndall of Branch; great-grandmother, Marge Carr of Clio; mother-in-law, Shelley Mallison-Christmas of Branch; father-in-law, Marc Christmas of Scottville; sister-in-law, Cayla (Pete Larsen) Christmas of Branch; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his three grandfathers: Douglas Young, Clay Christiansen and Mason Tyndall; grandmother, Gay Christiansen; great-uncle, James Skinner.
