The Lakeshore Resource Network recently gave away backpacks to 300 local youth who attend Ludington Area Schools, Mason County Central Schools, Mason County Eastern Schools and Gateway to Success Academy at the middle school and high school levels.

Over 1,129 items were donated at drop boxes located at various locations in Scottville and Ludington. Reamining supplies were purchased with a grant from the Youth Advisory Council of the Community Foundation for Mason County.

The resource network has worked with Mason County Family Link to be able to supply the backpacks to area students who are in need, according to Shelby Soberalski of Lakeshore Resource Network.

“The success of the school supply drive is a perfect example of how we can all work together to make a difference right here in our own area,” Soberalski said. “The Lakeshore Resource Network is committed to providing a network of resources to support and strengthen families in our community by offering assistance for immediate needs alongside access to resources and opportunities for lasting solutions.”
