HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — Two Ludington teens are in serious condition today following a single vehicle crash that occurred on Jebavy Drive Monday night. The crash occurred when a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Zachary Bussey, 19, was northbound on Jebavy Drive south of Fisher Road and left the west side of the road, went through a yard and struck a tree head on.  The driver reported to deputies he had been awake for over 24 hours and fell asleep, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Bussey and his 18-year-old passenger, Brett William Sabby were both seriously injured. They were initially transported by Life EMS ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital and then flown by AeroMed helicopter to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Hamlin Fire, Ludington Fire and Life EMS assisted deputies at the scene.  The case remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
