PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 32-year-old Shelby man allegedly ran from a crash scene on foot Thursday, Aug. 18, at 2:36 p.m. on southbound US 31 Freeway north of the Pere Marquette off-ramp, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The man, who was driving a 2008 Chevy Impala, attempted to cut the median and collided with a 2013 Chevy Equinox driven by a 32-year-old Silver Springs, Maryland woman. There were no injuries in the hit-and-run crash, Cole said.

  • 4:04 p.m., (Michigan State Police), one-vehicle crash involving injuries, US 31 and Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 7:30 p.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), larceny of a vehicle registration plate, M-116 near the Ludington State Park, Hamlin Township. An Indiana plate with registration number TK814MSS was reportedly stolen from a vehicle.
