Clarice Ann Gordon, 90, of Ludington passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Tendercare of Ludington following a brief illness.  Clarice was born on February 12, 1926 in Midland, the daughter of Frederick and Beatrice Kortge.  She grew up in the household alongside her four brothers — Eulan, Corliss, Dean, and Cleon — all who have preceded her in death.  On November 23, 1955 she married Donald Gordon in a ceremony conducted by her grandfather George Griswold, who served as justice of the peace.  Clarice and Donald celebrated 50 years together before Donald also preceded her in death in 2006.  Their marriage was blessed with daughters Nancy and Colleen.

Clarice, or “Sis” as she was often called by her family, was a member of the Golden Rule Club, the United Methodist Church, and was a Life member of the Custer Gold Bar VFW Post 5096 Women’s Auxiliary.  She and Donald enjoyed attending many of the military events and parades as member of the Post.  Clarice recently celebrated her 90th birthday with her many friends and family members.

Clarice will be greatly missed by her daughters Nancy Keith, and husband Robert of Cadillac, Colleen Rittenhouse, and husband Royce of Ludington; her grandchildren: Kevin Gordon, and his friend Abby Dettloff of Charleston, SC, Sierra Mead, and husband Brad of Alma, Casey, Riley, Katelyn, and Madalyn Rittenhouse all of Ludington; her great-grandchildren: Brayden, Savannah, and Breylon Mead; her sisters-in-law Peggy Kortge of Ludington, Barb Kortge of Texas, and Eileen Kortge of Clarkston; her brother-in-law Robert Gordon and wife Carolyn of Muskegon; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held for Clarice at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10 at Wyman Funeral & Cremation Services – Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville with The Rev. Norman Letsinger officiating.  Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Eden Township.  Friends may meet with her family for a time of visitation on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am until time of services at the funeral home.
