LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in 79th District Court:

-George Eugene Schrink, 53, 4728 W. Sixth St., Amber Township, pleaded guilty on July 25 to transporting an open intoxicant and use of marijuana and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days already served, 90 days discretionary jail for one year, must attend victims impact panel, no drugs/alcohol, license suspended for 180 days and restricted for 150 days, and must pay $800 in fines and costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State. Charges of improper transportation of medical marijuana and operating while intoxicated (OWI) second offense were dismissed on the motion of the prosecutor with prejudice.

-Kelly Dawn Nastold-Dunstan, 46, 533 Butler St., Grand Haven, pleaded guilty on July 19 to operating a motor vehicle while impaired by liquor (OWI) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days already served, 93 days discretionary jail for one year, must attend impact weekend, no drugs/alcohol, subject to random PBTs, and must pay $870 in fines and costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State.

-Ashley Lynn Anderson, 24, 6591 E. Sugar Grove Rd., Sheridan Township, pleaded guilty on July 19 to failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) and improper plates and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days already served, one year of discretionary jail for one year, no drugs/alcohol, and $710 in fines and costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State. A charge of possession of marijuana was dismissed on the motion of the prosecutor with prejudice.

-Michael Scott O’Brien, 46, 3079 N. Tuttle Rd., Sherman Township, pleaded guilty on July 19 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day already served, one year discretionary jail for one year, and $535 in fines and costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State. Charge of improper plates and failure to maintain security (no insurance) were dismissed on the motion of the prosecutor with prejudice.

-Phillip Czarnecki, 61, 11816 Morton Rd., Manistee, pleaded guilty on July 19 to possession of a firearm while under the influence and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days already served, 93 days discretionary jail for one year, must have a substance abuse evaluation, must obtain Soberlink within 180 days, no drugs/alcohol, must forfeit the weapon used in the offense, must not possess any dangerous weapons, and must pay $535 in fines and costs. A charge of felonious assault with a dangerous weapon was dismissed on the motion of the prosecutor with prejudice.

-Nicholas Edward Swain, 26, 485 Cherry St., Baldwin, pleaded guilty on July 21 to having fireworks at Stearns Park and was sentenced to pay $180 in fines and costs.

-Meagan Louise Bates, 20, 1044 Pineway, Ludington, pleaded guilty on July 21 to allowing a person to drive in violation of the motor vehicle law and was sentenced to pay $335 in fines and costs.

-James Leon Reterstoff, 40, 1525 Countyline Rd. Lot 24, Manistee, pleaded guilty on July 21 to using fireworks in a public park and was sentenced to pay $180 in fines and costs.

Dismissal

-Christopher Allen Zweigle, 42, 482 Tyndall Rd., Branch Township, had a charge of breaking and entering dismissed without prejudice on July 19. Court records indicate, “People cannot prove matter beyond a reasonable doubt.”
