Mike Chimel

Michael “Mike” Allen Chimel, 32 of Scottville, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016.

Mike was born on December 20, 1983 in Scottville, son of Pamela (Schramm) Chimel and the late Rick Chimel. Chris attended Mason County Central High School and graduated with the class of 2002. Mike worked at Amstar, painting bridges and Indian Summer of Ludington for most of his adult life.

Mike loved spending time with his family.  He was well liked by all of his friends.  He was a hard worker and enjoyed making money.  He was a good cook and had a green thumb for growing herbs. His sense of humor always brought a smile to the faces of those that knew him.  He was most recently enjoying time with his uncles learning how to work on cars and renovate his home in Scottville.  His aunts were always there to make sure that he was well fed.  He enjoyed playing video games and a wide variety of music.  After a recent health scare Mike made the decision to put his trust back into God.

Mike is survived by his mother, Pamela Marie Chimel of Ludington; brother Gary (Pon) Hillier, Jr. of Holland Paton, New York; nephews Gary Ray ”Trey”, Jonathon, and Brian Hillier; and he will be greatly missed by all his aunts, uncles, cousins and especially his cat, Haze.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rick Chimel, his brother, Christopher Chimel and grandparents Richard and Marilyn Schramm and Vern and Marion Chimel.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at  2 p.m. on Saturday July 2, 2016 at Path of Life Ministries in Ludington with Dr. Craig Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1 p.m. until time of service.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mike may be directed to Path of Life Ministries. Please feel free to share a photo or memory with Mike’s family at www.oakgrovefh.com.
The family has entrusted funeral arrangements with Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
