July 4 fireworks display in need of funds.

fireworksLUDINGTON — The Ludington Area Jaycees is asking for help funding the annual Ludington Area Jaycees Freedom Festival fireworks display, which costs $20,000. The group is in need of raising $15,000.

“If every person who watched the fireworks show gave just $1, the Jaycees would have this year’s show paid off with the potential to start a fund for the 2017 show,” said Travis Miedema, fireworks solicitations chairman. “And, if every local business that benefits from the influx of tourism in our community for this event donated a modest amount, the same would be true. The Jaycees are dedicated to this community and to providing an amazing Fourth of July experience but we can’t do it without community support. We greatly thank those businesses and individuals who have already contributed.”

The Jaycees will also be selling Freedom Festival t-shirts and water along the parade route to help raise fund for the fireworks, as well as charging a fee for entries in the Grand Parade.

Donations can be mailed to Ludington Area Jacyees, PO Box 411, Ludington, MI 49431 or delivered to Dave Kosla at Instrumental Music and Sound, 109 S. James St.
