LUDINGTON – The following were sentenced recently in 79th District Court:

– David Robert Southern, 37, no address listed, pleaded guilty on June 15 to breaking and entering a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance (non-narcotic) and was sentenced to 120 days in jail with credit for 55 days already served, 93 days of discretionary jail for one year on Count 4, one year discretionary jail for one year on Count 6, $745 in fines and costs, license suspended for 210 days and restricted for 150 days. Conviction is reportable to the Secretary of State. Charges of unarmed robbery and possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) were dismissed on the motion of the court with prejudice.

– Daniel George Kuhr, 52, 1450 E. Hoague Rd., Free Soil Township, pleaded guilty on June 20 to disorderly person – jostling and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day already served, 90 days of discretionary jail for one year, $285 in fines and costs, must not possess firearms for one year, and 12 months of probation. A charge of domestic violence was dismissed without prejudice.

– Eric Brian Buter, 29, 310 Elm St., Scottville, pleaded guilty on June 17 to taking a deer without a license and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year, hunting license revoked for 2016, 12 months of probation and must pay $2,250 in fines and costs.

– Ashley Sue Moritz, 32, 133 S. Main St. Apt. 2B, Scottville, pleaded guilty on June 16 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to pay $225 in fines and costs. The conviction is reportable to the Secretary of State.

Dismissals

– Matthew Carl Duell, 24, 109 E. State St., Scottville, had a charge of operating without security (no insurance) dismissed without prejudice on June 20. “Defendant has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge,” according to court records.

– Cory Evan Carsten, 30, 802 N. St. Paul St., Ludington, had a charge of assault dismissed without prejudice on June 20. “Case cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt,” according to court records.

– Maxwell Laverne Monton, 22, 4261 N. Washington Ave., Ludington, had a charge of breaking and entering dismissed without prejudice on June 16. “Defendant has entered into a prosecutor’s deferment agreement,” according to court records.

– Evan Daniel Gomes, 22, 1449 Donna St., Pere Marquette Township, had a charge of breaking and entering dismissed without prejudice on June 16. “Defendant has entered into a prosecutor’s deferment agreement,” according to court records.

– Robin Rae Bakies, 53, 740 N. Jebavy Dr., Pere Marquette Township, had charges of domestic violence third offense and habitual offender fourth offense dismissed without prejudice on June 14. “The people cannot prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt at this time,” according to court records.

– Jennifer Lynn Nickleson, 28, 210 E. Second St., Scottville, had a charge of operating while license suspended/revoked/denied dismissed without prejudice on May 20 as part of a plea agreement with the prosecution.
