Obituary: Walter Marks, 78, Ludington.

Walter Byron Marks, 78, of Ludington, died Friday, May 27, 2016, at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital.

Walter was born on March 5, 1938 in Detroit, MI to the late Edward Ralph and Esther Lillian (Hutchinson) Marks. He married Beatrice “Bea” J. (Mecklenberg) Marks on July 11, 1958 in Detroit. She preceded him in death on June 26, 2005.

Walter is survived by one son, Wally (Gwen) Marks of Ludington; two daughters: Marlynn (Ted) Gulembo of Fountain and Susan (Anthony) Evans of Florida; six grandchildren: Holly, Corliss, Walter III, Mason, Easton, McKinley; five great-grandchildren: Ava, Reaghan, Noelle, Isabella, Corliss “Cole” IV; and one brother, Ralph (Sally) Marks of Eastpointe. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bea, one brother, Raymond and three sisters: Maude Lavender, Ethel Locke and Janet “Jerry” Sun.

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at noon at the Wyman Funeral & Cremation Services Funeral Home in Scottville with Pastor Dan Rader officiating. Burial will follow at Bachelor Cemetery where VFW Post #3442 will have Military Honors.

The family will be at the Wyman Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the time of service to greet friends.
