Inmate allegedly attempts to sneak drugs into jail.

servpro_springstead_022616LUDINGTON — The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is pursuing charges of possession of a schedule IV drug and smuggling contraband into a correctional facility against a 24-year-old jail inmate.

A corrections deputy at the Mason County Jail recovered two Ativan pills after noticing an inmate, who was returning from work release Thursday at 9:20 pm., reportedly “digging into his pants pocket,” according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The following is other local law enforcement activity Thursday, April 28, 2016:

8:44 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), a 27-year-old Scottville woman was arrested for disorderly person following a 911 call to an apartment complex reporting a disturbance, 143 N. Jebavy, Pere Marquette Township.

12:20 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injuries, US 10 and Jebavy, PM Township.

5:56 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), assault, 400 block of E. Melendy St., City of Ludington.
