Donald M. Post, 99, of Ludington, passed away on Saturday, March 26 at Spectrum Health of Ludington.

Donald was born to the late Maynard G. Post and Carrie S. (Moore) Post, on November 10, 1916 in Royal Oak, Michigan.

He was a veteran of World War II and became a master sergeant for the U.S. Army, serving active duty in Europe from 1942 to 1945. Donald graduated from the University of Miami, Florida, earning a bachelor’s in business administration in 1949.

Donald married his late wife Phyllis M. Hudson on October 9, 1949 in Kalamazoo at the United Methodist Church.  He was employed as an accountant and office manager for over 30 years.  He was a member of the Walled Lake, Michigan United Methodist Church.  His hobbies included genealogy and playing duplicate bridge.

Donald is survived by his son Davin (Linda) Post; granddaughters: Erika (Kendel) Trim and Lauren (Tony) Sterley; great-grandchildren: Collin and Alex Trim, and Anna, Madelyn, and Lane Sterley.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at United Methodist Church of Ludington with Pastor Dennis Bromley officiating.  Services will begin at 11 a.m. There will be a one hour visitation beginning at 10 a.m. prior to the service.  Memorial Contributions in lieu of flowers may be directed to American Cancer Society, Salvation Army or Walled Lake United Methodist: 313 Northport, Walled Lake MI 49390.  To share a photo or memory with Donald’s family, visit his book of memories page at www.oakgrovefh.com.
