March 19, 2016

WEARE TOWNSHIP (Oceana County) — A 34-year-old Ludington man died Saturday following a two vehicle crash at US 31 and Oceana Drive.

A preliminary investigation by Michigan State Police Hart Post indicates that William Charles Sielski was in the process of making a left turn from the top of the north bound US 31 exit ramp at Oceana Drive when he was struck by an east bound vehicle with two occupants.

Sielski was transported to Lakeshore Hospital in Shelby where he succumbed to his injuries. The two occupants in the second vehicle sustained minor injuries.

All parties were wearing safety belts and alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the crash. A State Police accident reconstructionist is assisting in the investigation.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Oceana County EMS, and Pentwater and Hart Fire departments.
