February 11, 2016

HAMLIN TOWNSHIP – Starting Feb. 27 through March 19, West Shore Community College’s Business and Community Education program, in partnership with Oaktree Academy, will host a “Bigs & Littles Series” on four consecutive Saturdays. Sessions begin at noon and end at approximately at 3 p.m.

The adult enrichment classes are being offered at the Oaktree Academy with provided hands-on childcare.

The series opens on Feb. 27, with Knitting 101. Carole Kosanovich, of Nautical Yarns in Ludington, will teach participants the two basic stitches, how to read a pattern, as well as casting on and binding off.

The following Saturday, March 6, Kosanovich will also offer Crocheting 101.

Rachel Brock, Mason County Central art teacher, will provide an Introduction to Water Color & Acrylic class on March 12.  Brock will demonstrate how to make and stretch canvases, and show layering techniques for collages and texturing.

The final event in the series is a Yoga & Meditation session hosted by Crystal Young on March 19.  Individuals will learn basic meditation techniques including breathing, posture, and moving intentionally during a yoga session.

Each session is $49 and childcare for two children is included. For those registering more than two children, an additional $10 per child will be due the day of class.  Childcare is open to all registrants, whether children regularly attend Oaktree Academy or not.
