Intoxicated man found lying in snowbank, assaults doctor.

SpringsteadVertical_091015PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 54-year-old Ludington man was arrested on charges of disorderly person and assault after Mason County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a reported person lying in the roadway Thursday, Feb. 11, at 1:20 a.m. in the 5800 block of West US 10.

Responding deputies located the man lying in a snowbank with no jacket on, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. He was allegedly highly intoxicated and began cursing at deputies. An officer noted a cut above the man’s eye and transported him to the Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital emergency department for treatment, where he allegedly assaulted the ED physician by grabbing his hand causing an injury.  

The suspect is currently lodged in the Mason County Jail.
