LUDINGTON — Need to buy a pie for Thanksgiving desert? Here’s a way to do it and to help a good cause at the same time. The Shop with a Cop program is holding an online pie auction Wednesday. The auction will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bidders can bid in person at the Stearns Motor Inn ballroom, 212 E. Ludington Ave., or by calling WMOM at 231-845-9666. Pies may be viewed at www.WMOM.fm.

Ludington Police Office Tony Kuster said over 100 pies have been donated for the auction. Money raised will allow select children in need to pair up with a local police officer and shop for their family. The Shop with a Cop program takes place in December at Wal-Mart. Kids are given a gift certificate with the intent they purchase gifts for family members.
