Carferry picture wins 2016 Ludington city calendar contest.

LUDINGTON — A photograph by Jamie Loney of Ludington of the carferry S.S. Badger is the winning image for the 2016 City of Ludington calendar. This is the second year the City of Ludington will be printing a calendar for residents. One photo is chosen each year to grace the cover of the calendar.

“This photo was so eye catching that it was an instant consideration for the cover”, said Community Development Director Heather Tykoski. “The photo evokes a feeling of nostalgia, summer, and peacefulness; it embodies what so much of us love about Ludington.”

“Not only is this calendar a useful tool for our residents with helpful hints, meeting times, and important information, it is also a way to highlight the beauty of our area and showcase the work of some talented photographers who capture this beauty”, stated Tykoski. “I have a feeling these calendars may become collector’s items.”

Calendars will be delivered to each property via the US Post Office in late December. An online version will be made available at that time as well.  The City of Ludington would like to thank all of those who submitted photos for their excellent contributions.
