west shore art fairLUDINGTON —Sunshine Artist Magazine announced the release of its 23rd annual 200 Best, ranking the nation’s most-profitable art & craft festivals based on subscribers’ sales performance in 2014. Launched in 1993, the 200 Best is split into two categories: Fine Art & Design, for events that focus on unique, museum-quality pieces in either 2-D or 3-D, and Classic & Contemporary Craft, for events that focus on traditional or modern craft and production work. The West Shore Art Fair received a ranking of #94 in the Fine Art & Design category – out of thousands of fine art fairs across the nation.

The West Shore Art Fair (WSAF) celebrated its 47th year during the 2015 July 4th weekend in downtown Ludington, and featured 116 artists from 21 states. The prestigious art fair was formerly known as the West Shore Art League Fine Art and Craft Fair and was last on the SA Best 200 list in 2006. The art fair is now sponsored and managed by the Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) and was christened as the West Shore Art Fair in 2012 with the goal of returning to the SA Best 200 list. “We are thrilled that the WSAF has received this national ranking in just a few short years,” said LACA Executive Director, Corinn VanWyck. “ It is a very high honor for the WSAF to receive this national recognition as a high-quality art fair, and for Ludington itself to be recognized as an arts and cultural destination”.

Next year’s West Shore Art Fair will take place on July 2-3 and will feature 100 to 120 artist exhibitors. Artists can apply online beginning November 1, 2015 at www.zapplication.org. Artists who apply before December 31 will pay the discounted early bird application fee of only $25. Application fee for January 1 through final deadline of February 27, 2016 is $35.
