79th District Court sentencings and dismissals

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 79th District Court:

Matthew Caleb Petersen, 32, of 2486 N. Jebavy Dr., Ludington, was found guilty Aug. 19 of domestic violence. He was sentenced to mental health treatment; $198 in fines and costs; and 93 days discretionary jail for one year. One count of assault with a dangerous weapon was dismissed.

James Brian Falkowski, 29, of 17399 Villa Park Ave., Spring Lake, was found guilty Aug. 19 of impaired driving. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; outpatient treatment; $860 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend the next session of the Victims’ Impact Panel (VIP); no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs) and drug tests. Sentence is concurrent to another district court file. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

Terry Keven Emery, 49, of 1849 E. M-61, Gladwin, was found guilty Aug. 20 of driving while license suspended (DWLS). He was sentenced to six days in jail with credit for six days served; $285 in fines and costs; and 93 days discretionary jail for one year. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Adam Lee Passarelli, no address listed, pleaded no contest Agu. 21 to assault and battery. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for 19 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and no contact with the victim. Jail balance to run consecutive to probation violation sentence.

Eric Duane Palmer, 41, of 303 5th St., Apt. 1, Ludington, was found guilty Aug. 24 of allowing a person to drive in violation and sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days days discretionary jail for one year; and $335 in fines and costs.

Michael Joseph Ramsey, 22, of 237 N. Campbell Rd., Fountain, was found guilty Aug. 24 of allowing a person to drive in violation and sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days days discretionary jail for one year; and $335 in fines and costs.

Kelly Ray Thomas, 39, of 8808 Osmo St., Apt. 4, Kaleva, was found guilty Aug. 24 of reckless driving. He was sentenced to four days in jail with credit for four days served and 90 days discretionary jail for one year. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Dismissals

Joshua Kurt VanDenHeuvel, 31, of 3440 N. Amber Rd., Scottville, one count of operating/maintaining a lab involving a firearm/harmful device; one count of possession of methamphetamine/ecstasy; and two counts of weapons/felony firearm were dismissed, Aug. 10. “Due to witness unavailability, the People are unable to prove the charged offense at this time,” court records state.

William Francis Wicklund, 37, of 2527 Benson Rd., Fountain, one count of DWLS dismissed Aug. 20. “The ends of justice do not require further prosecution of this matter,” court records state.

Gurprett Singh Dhillon, 42, of 5180 8th Conc RR3 Maidstone, Ontario, one count of domestic violence was dismissed Aug. 17. “The ends of justice do not require further prosecution of this matter,” court records state.
