The club leases the southeast portion of Riverside Park for $1 a year, on a three year contract. The club has erected several buildings and permanent displays at the location during its tenure at the park.

During discussion, Hahn asked how much money the old engine club makes. City Manager Amy Williams said she was unable to answer that but said the club is a non-profit organization. Commissioner Connie Duncil said she believes the club does a lot of good for the city.

In addition to the club’s annual show in August, it also holds an education day for area school children each September, teaching them about the history of agriculture.

City Manager Amy Williams is recommending the city renew its lease with the club at the same rate.
