Several agencies respond to reckless driving complaint, Florida driver ticketed

PENTWATER TWP. — Officers from the Pentwater Police Department assisted the Mason County Sheriff’s Office and the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office with a reckless driver on southbound US-31 Sunday afternoon, July 26.

“One Florida subject was ticketed for reckless driving and released,” according to a press release from the Pentwater Police Department issued Monday, July 27.

“Mason/Oceana County Central Dispatch received reports of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, all over the road, passing against oncoming traffic and forcing other vehicles off the road,” the press release states.

“First reports put the suspect vehicle traveling south on US-31 near Scottville at approximately 5:15 p.m. Subsequent reports placed the vehicle on US-10 westbound and finally on US-31 southbound.

“Pentwater Police Officers assisting Oceana County Sheriff’s Office stopped the suspect vehicle on southbound US-31 near Hammett Road at approximately 5:31 p.m. Following investigation, the driver was ticketed for reckless driving and released.”
