Boater assisted, vehicle crashes, police threatened over weekend.

HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — Deputies from Mason County Sheriff’s Office assisted a boater on Lake Michigan Saturday afternoon after the boat reported taking on water. Sheriff Kim Cole said the boat was struck by several large waves around 3:30 p.m. when it was traveling near the Ludington State Park. The operator decided to beach the vessel, Cole said. The 22-foot 2003 Sea Ray was then towed back to Ludington by the sheriff’s office marine patrol. No injuries were reported.

Friday, July 17, 2015:

  • 1:01 p.m.: MCSO, felonious assault on law enforcement, 11000 block of North Amber Road, Grant Township. Warrant issued for a 56-year-old Grant Township man as a result. Case pending.
  • 2:15 p.m.: Ludington Police Department responded to a vehicle crash resulting in injuries at 66 S. Pere Marquette Highway, P.M. Township. Also responding was P.M. Fire Department, Ludington Fire Dept. and Life EMS.
  • 2:16 p.m.: MCSO, Two vehicle crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 east of Meyers Road, Amber Township. A 20-year-old Baldwin man was cited for driving while license suspended following the crash.
  • 5:35 p.m., MCSO, Gas drive off of $40.01, Ludington EZ Mart, 5900 block of West U.S. 10, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 10:27 p.m., MCSO, fireworks complaint, Lakeshore Dr. and Neil Rd., Hamlin Township.

Saturday, July 18, 2015:

  • 9:22 a.m., MCSO, alarm activation, White Road, Grant Township.
  • 2:09 p.m., MCSO, a 39-year-old Ludington man was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a reckless driving complaint and traffic stop on West Sugar Grove Road near Lakeshore Drive, Hamlin Township.
  • 5:10 p.m., MCSO, arrest warrants have been requested for a 42-year-old Ludington woman for OWI third offense and DWLS following a single vehicle crash at Lakeshore and Memorial drives, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 10:25 p.m., LPD, fireworks complaint, 815 N. New William St., City of Ludington.
  • 10:39 p.m.: MCSO, a 28-year-old Ludington woman was struck by a pickup truck near the intersection of Jebavy Drive and Fisher Road, Hamlin Township. The truck, description unknown, left the scene and continued north on Jebavy Dr. Case remains open.
  • 10:40 p.m., LPD, fireworks complaint, Lowell St. and Gaylord Ave., City of Ludington.
  • 11:34 p.m., MCSO, a 52-year-old Fountain man was found by deputies passed out in a ditch near the intersection of Martin and Campbell roads, Branch Township. The man was intoxicated and transported to his home.

Sunday, June 19, 2015:

  • 12:27 p.m., MCSO, a 42-year-old Ludington woman was arrested and charged with OWI second offense, following a traffic stop at U.S. 10 and Darr Road, Custer Township.
  • 8:57 p.m., MCSO, gas drive off of $45.91, Ludington EZ Mart, 5900 block of West U.S. 10, P.M. Township.
