Custer Road crash

  CUSTER TWP. — A Free Soil area woman was injured following a single vehicle crash on Custer Road between Johnson and Hansen roads Monday night about 7:30 p.m.

The woman was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix north on Custer when the vehicle apparently left the roadway, landing on its side in a ditch on the west side of the road. The woman, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was pinned in the vehicle. Fire personnel used extrication tools to remove her from the vehicle and had to use ladders to remove her and themselves from the ditch.

The driver was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. Responding to the scene were Michigan State Police, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Custer Fire Dept. and Life EMS.
