Man injured in National Forest motorcycle crash; Fountain man arrested on multiple charges.

MEADE TOWNSHIP — A 55-year-old Whitehouse, Ohio was injured Sunday, June 28, 2015, after the off-road motorcycle he was operating struck soft sand causing him to lose control resulting in him being ejected off the bike.  The crash was reported at 11:40 a.m. on Manistee National Forest Trail Road #8395 north of Hasenbank Road. The victim was flown to Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids by AeroMed for serious but non-life threatening injuries.  Responding to the scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Free Soil/Meade Fire Department and Life EMS ambulance.
SHERMAN TWP. — A 61-year-old Fountain man was arrested for damaging property, trespassing and violating a personal protection order (PPO) following a 911 call Saturday, June 27, at 5:37 p.m. in the 4200 block of E. Dewey Road, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
“The caller attempted to block the suspect’s ability to gain access onto another parcel of land, and while doing so, the suspect reportedly struck the caller’s vehicle with a tractor, pushing it out of the way,” according to Cole.
