Ice cream cone, waffle iron cause disturbances

BRANCH TWP. — Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to two separate disturbances involving food over the holiday weekend.

The first disturbance was reported Saturday, May 23, at 8:16 p.m. at Pioneer Party Store in the 6100 block of E. US-10 when a “subject became upset because she felt she did not get enough sprinkles on her ice cream cone and threw the cone at the clerk,” stated Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The second disturbance was reported Sunday, May 24, at 9:04 a.m. at American Best Value Inn in the 5000 block of W. US-10 in Pere Marquette Township, where “20-plus persons were asked to leave the hotel by the owners following an argument over the waffle maker,” Cole stated.
