LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 79th District Court:

– Kraig Jon Koekkoek, 60, of 775 E. US-10, Apt. B, Scottville, was found guilty May 13 of larceny less than $200. He was sentenced to 19 days in jail with credit for 19 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no contact with victim; must comply with mental health providers; and no alcohol/drugs. One count of second-degree home invasion dismissed.

– Alexis Christina Alvesteffer, 34, of 803 E. Filer St., Ludington, was found guilty May 19 of operating while impaired. She was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; outpatient treatment; $870 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend next session of Victims Impact Panel (VIP); no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs). Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of operating with with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .17 or more was dismissed.

– Thomas Edward Gray, Jr., 44, of 8936 26th Ave., Bitely, was found guilty May 14 of open intoxicant, passenger in a motor vehicle. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 30 days discretionary jail for one year; and $265 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– James Brent Berkel, 45, of 4741 N. Lasalle Rd., Scottville, was found guilty May 14 of driver transporting open intoxicant in a motor vehicle. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and $265 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Jessica Ann Woodring, 22, of 181 E. Conrad Rd., Scottville, was found guilty May 14 of improper plates, failure to transfer and sentenced to $175 in fines and costs.

– Dakota Davidson Gottwald, 20, of 602 N. Rowe St., Ludington, pleaded no contest May 18 to allowing a person to drive in violation. He was sentenced to $335 in fines and costs and 90 days discretionary jail for one year.

– Steven Robert Gray, 55, of 115 S. James St., Ludington, was found guilty May 19 of controlled substance, possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to eight days in jail with credit for eight days served; $738 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and must keep medical marijuana card current. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of second-offense possession of marijuana was dismissed.

– Steven Michael Larson, 57, of 604 E. Filer St., Apt. 2, Ludington, was found guilty May 19 of operating while impaired. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; outpatient treatment; $1,230 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs; must attend Impact Weekend and follow recommendations; and must attend AA twice a week for two years. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– William Dennis Padron, 25, of 706 N. Rowe, Ludington, was found guilty May 19 of controlled substance, possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $738 in fines and costs; driver’s license suspended one year/restricted after 30 days; one year discretionary jail for one year; must obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow recommendations; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random PBTs and drug tests. One count of second-offense possession of marijuana was dismissed.

– Nicholas Lee-Scott Michels, 21, of 253 Walhalla Rd., Fountain, was found guilty May 19 of second-degree retail fraud. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $931.55 in restitution; $535 in fines and costs; one year discretionary jail for one year; and must attend the Economic Crime Program.

– Christopher Michael Newfer, 29, of 617 Catfish Crt., Newaygo, pleaded no contest May 19 to assault and battery. He was sentenced to $535 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and no contact with victim.

– Kenneth Craig Myers, 51, of 2425 160th St., Walkerville, was found guilty April 9 of allowing a person to drive in violation. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and $335 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license suspended (DWLS) was dismissed.

– Alexander Michael-David Sandel, 23, of 9058 N. US-31, Pentwater, was found  guilty May 14 of failure to display a valid license and was sentenced to $275 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating a motor vehicle without security and one count of DWLS were dismissed.

– Jeromy Richard Sobers, 38, of 4851 N. Cleveland, Fountain, was found guilty May 18 of allowing a person to drive in violation. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $335 in fines and costs; and 90 days discretionary jail for one year. One count of DWLS was dismissed.

– Scott Gale Vandevelde, 45, of 811 N. Washington Ave., Ludington, was found guilty May 19 of domestic violence. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; outpatient treatment; $608 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no contact with victim; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random PBTs. One count of assault by strangulation was dismissed.

Dismissals

– Timothy Allen Olmstead, 19, of 308 N. Staffon St., Ludington, one count of assault and battery was dismissed May 14. “There is not a reasonable likelihood of conviction with the evidence in possession of the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office,” court records state.

– James Phillip Biggin, 29, of 143 N. Jebavy Dr., Apt. 13, Ludington, one count of third-degree retail fraud was dismissed May 14. “Defendant has entered into an agreement for dismissal upon payment of restitution, and restitution has been paid,” court records state.

– Robert James Graham, 74, of 25 Silver Creek, Reed City, one count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed May 14. “Defendant pleaded guilty to another offense,” court records state.

– David Raymond Reed, 55, of 1713 W. Kinney Rd., Scottville, one count of DWLS was dismissed May 18. “Defendant pleaded guilty to a lesser charge,” court records state.

– Robert James Lessard, 38, of 7288 Wever Rd., Fountain, one count of operating a motor vehicle without security was dismissed May 18. “Defendant pleaded guilty to a lesser charge,” court records state.

– Robert Lawrence Devore, 55, of 41472 E. Archwood Dr., Belleville, one count of operating a motor vehicle without security was dismissed May 18. “Defendant pleaded guilty to a lesser charge,” court records state.

– Nancy Marie Claffey, 68, of 1108 E. Mavis Rd., Scottville, one count of operating a motor vehicle without security was dismissed May 18. “Defendant pleaded guilty to a lesser charge,” court records state.

– Darcy Lynn England, 53, of 5682 W. Johnson Rd., Ludington, one count of operating a motor vehicle without security was dismissed May 14. “Defendant pleaded guilty to a lesser charge,” court records state.

– Nicole Lynn Soberalski, 31, of 6719 E. Hawley Rd., Branch, one count of operating a motor vehicle without security was dismissed May 14. “Defendant pleaded guilty to a lesser charge,” court records state.

– Ryan Edward Roberts, 30, of 2310 N. Lakeshore Dr., Ludington, one count of solid waste – general violations was dismissed May 18. “Defendant pleaded guilty to a lesser charge,” court records state.
