AMBER TWP. — A 26-year-old Shelby man was arrested by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office for operating while intoxicated Saturday, April 25, at 12:20 a.m., at US-10 and US-31 after several callers reported a wrong-way driver on the US-31 freeway. The vehicle was traveling north in the southbound lanes, according Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

A 44-year-old Custer woman was arrested for probation violation by MCSO Saturday at 11:05 p.m.  on Eden Lake Road south of Hawley in Eden Township, following 911 calls of a female lying in the roadway. She was found to be reportedly intoxicated and on probation with a no alcohol order, according to Cole.

Randall Malliett, 55, of Free Soil, was working on a tractor in the 4400 block of Fountain Road in Victory Township Sunday, April 26 at 3 p.m. when the clutch released, causing the tractor to lurch forward and run him over.

– 2:19 .a.m., (MCSO), two 17-year-old Hart men were cited for minor in possession of alcohol (MIP) following a traffic stop, PM Hwy. and Sixth St., PM Twp.

– 10:56 a.m., (MCSO), a 26-year-old Baldwin woman was cited for no insurance and her vehicle was impounded following a traffic stop, State and Main, City of Scottville.

– 1:05 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injuries, Main and State, City of Scottville.

– 9:53 p.m., (MSP), car-deer crash, Hansen and Benson rds., Branch Twp.

– 9:54 p.m., (MCSO), a 60-year-old Scottville man was arrested for breaking and entering in the 700 block of E. US-10 in Custer Twp. The victim came home and allegedly found the suspect near her residence acting oddly, and upon entering her residence found it to be in disarray. The suspect was located by deputies and through the investigation, numerous items reportedly belonging to the victim were allegedly found with the suspect, who was arrested and lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Sunday, April 26, 2015:

– 4:03 a.m., (MSP), two-car property damage accident, Culver and Dewey rds., Hamlin Twp.

– 12:49 p.m., (MCSO), attempted breaking and entering and larceny, 4500 block of Anthony, Riverton Twp. The victim awoke to find his 2009 Honda quad runner sitting in the road a short distance from his house, the sheriff said. He then found his garage had been broken into and the quad removed.
