April 20, 2015

LUDINGTON — WMOM FM 102.7 has reported that the Ludington Elks club #736 has closed.  The closure was discovered when the Ludington lodge was no longer on the national website.  According to WMOM, the national headquarters verified that the local club had been closed. A spokesman told the radio station that last week John Amen, National leader of the Elks issued an executive order to merge the local club into the Manistee Elks.

Since 2010, the club had been located at the southeast corner of Ludington Ave. and James St. Prior to that, the club was located at 129 E. Ludington Ave., the new location of Sandcastles Children’s Museum at the northwest corner of Ludington Ave. and Harrison St.
