MI_-_State_Police_logo_mspSCOTTVILLE — Troopers from the Hart post of the Michigan State Police assisted the Scottville Police Department Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 9:52 p.m. with a felonious assault/fugitive incident in the 100 block of North Main Street.

The felonious assault was unfounded, said Scottville Police Chief Don Riley. A subject texted another subject stating that he had a .45 caliber handgun, but no weapon was found. The alleged victim did not wish to press charges, the chief said. However, upon investigating the scene, police discovered that a 17-year-old Scottville was wanted for failure to appear on an original breaking and entering charge, and he was arrested.

Troopers are also investigating a criminal sexual conduct incident reported Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m. on Harrison Street in the City of Ludington.

MSP also handled a well-being check Monday, Jan. 26, at 3:20 p.m. on West Hidden Forest Drive in Amber Township.
