Cast announced for dinner theater.

VICTORY TWP. — West Shore Community College has announced its cast for the upcoming dinner theater comedy, “Fox on the Fairway.”

The Ken Ludwig farce will feature WSCC Performing Arts Scholarship students Kyler McQuesten as Justin and Breanne Tetsloff as Muriel.  WSCC student Maggie Moul is cast as Louise, and area actors Paul Garland, will be seen as Bingham, Sara Brown is cast as Pamela, and David Grove plays Dickie.

“This cast is sure to score a hole in one,” says production director Mike Mikula, adding, “They are all ace players whose game is well above par.”

The slap-stick, knock-about comedy centers on Bingham, president of the Quail Valley Country Club, who finds himself in a difficult position, less by finding out that his newly hired hand, Justin, is in love with Louise, the waitress at the club house, but by the discovery that the golfer he thought would play for his club has switched sides, recruited by his counterpart and opponent, the cocky and arrogant Dickie, and the huge bet he had foolishly wagered is now likely to be lost.

Fortunately, he discovers that Justin is actually quite a good golfer and finagles his nomination. Justin does not disappoint and has a huge lead, when the tournament is interrupted by bad weather. When Justin learns that Louise has lost the engagement ring he gave her (she accidentally flushed it down the toilet) he comes unglued.

The game resumes the next day, but Justin loses the lead, and, upset, takes an unfortunate swing breaking his arm. Bingham is desperate, and the appearance of his wife complicates the matter, as she catches him much too close to Pamela, his sex-starved vice-president.

Can Bingham find a replacement for Justin to win the game, win the wager, and get his life in order?  These comic questions are all answered in the farce, according to Performing Arts Series director Dr. Rick Plummer.

“Fox on the Fairway” is being presented in the college’s first-ever dinner theater format.  The production will take place in the college’s North Lounge in the Administrative and Conference Center.  WSCC food Service is preparing the meal.

Mike Mikula, adjunct professor of theater, is directing and also has designed the set and is the production’s technical director.  Mikula is a professional actor-director, with over 35 years of professional theater experience.

Emily Hartrum is the production stage manager.  WSCC scholarship student Topher Webb is the assistant technical director, and WSCC student LeAnna Engwall is costume coordinator.  Susan Barnard is the costumer, Amanda Collene is the lighting designer, and Marty Cupp is the master scene painter.

“Fox on the Fairway” plays Thursday-Saturday, March 5-7 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 8 at 2 p.m.
