RIVERTON TWP. — The driver of the vehicle that ran into a ditch at the end of Hoganson Road this morning has been transported to Spectrum Health’s Buttworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. Kristi Lynn Cherry, 22, of Pentwater, left Hanson’s house this morning and was driving her Ford F-150 north on Hoganson Road. Hoganson ends in a T at Marrison Road.

Cherry had apparently told bystanders at the scene that she thinks she had been there since about 4 a.m. However, the time change may have added more time. Hanson said Cherry was conscious at the hospital but had a broken neck along with hypothermia. Her body temperature was 92 degrees.

Cherry was found about 8:30 a.m. today. Bystanders helped remove her from the vehicle, prior to emergency personnel arriving. She was transported to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital by Life EMS ambulance.

Also on scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office and Riverton Twp. Fire Dept. Custer Fire Dept. was also called for its rescue unit, but was disregarded.
