Franz to host director of Dept. of Veterans Affairs in Manistee.

MANISTEE — State Rep. Ray Franz will welcome Adjutant General Gregory Vadnais, director of the Michigan Department of Veterans Affairs, to the Manistee Armory for a veterans town hall meeting on Oct. 22.

“I would like to thank Representative Ray Franz for hosting this veterans town hall,” Vadnais said. “Representative Franz continues to be a strong advocate for our veterans and service members.  As vice chair of the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee in Lansing, Representative Franz has ensured that helping our veterans continues to be a top priority.”

The meeting at 555 First St. in Manistee is scheduled for 6 p.m. and is an opportunity to share information on veterans benefits and usage, as well as have a question and answer session.

“Having General Vadnais available to meet and talk directly with the local veterans in our community is a terrific opportunity,” said Franz, R-Onekama. “It’s also a chance to provide the department with our thoughts and concerns on the veterans affairs department to help make more improvements for serving veterans.”
