VICTORY TWP. — The fate of West Shore Community College President Charles Dillon’s job may be decided Thursday afternoon. The college’s board of trustees will hold a special meeting at 4 p.m. During that meeting the board will hold a closed session where it will review the legal opinion of its attorney regarding the president’s current contract.

On Sept. 17, Dillon, 64, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated in Manistee’s 85th District Court. See story here. Since Dillon’s Aug. 6 arrest, he has been suspended, initially with pay. On Sept. 15, the board voted to terminate Dillon’s pay and seek legal counsel.

Scott Ward, vice president of administrative services, was appointed on Sept. 15 to serve as acting president. He and Dr. Lisa Stich, vice president of academic services, have been sharing many of the duties normally performed by the president.

The board meets in the board room in the Administrative and Conference Building on the main campus.
