LUDINGTON — A 22-year-old Ludington man has been charged with criminal sexual conduct first degree, along with several other charges, in relation to an incident that took place Monday, Aug. 25 at Pineway Apartments.

Ludington Police Chief Mark Barnett said officers from LPD were dispatched to the 1100 block of Pineway at 5:51 p.m. Monday for a report of a home invasion/CSC incident.

“Responding officers obtained the information alleging the sexual assault and home invasion, as well as the identity of the suspect,” Barnett said. “The suspect was alleged to have forced his way into the home where the assaultive activity took place. Officers were advised that the victim knew the suspect from a prior relationship. Suspect information was given out in a ‘be on the lookout’ to area law enforcement.”

A short time later, deputies from Mason County Sheriff’s Office located and stopped the suspect, Jon Lloyd Maccune, in the 100 block of North Nelson Road in Pere Marquette Township. Maccune, who resides at 924 E. Tinkham Ave., Apt. 201, was arrested and charged with CSC first degree, home invasion first degree, CSC third degree, domestic violence and habitual offender second offense.

A preliminary exam is scheduled for Sept. 3 at 11:15 a.m. Bail has been set at $75,000 cash/surety.

CSC first degree means that penetration was involved in the criminal act. It is a crime punishable by up to life in prison.
