51st Circuit Court sentencings

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced Tuesday in 51st Circuit Court:

Luft

– Bradley Elmer Luft, 50, of 308 N. Lewis St., Ludington, pleaded no contest July 9 to third-offense domestic violence and interfering with an electronic communication device. He was convicted by the court of habitual offender, third offense. He was sentenced on the first count to two to 10 years with a Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) prison and two to four years in prison for the second count. Prison terms run concurrent and also run concurrent with probation violation in another case. He was given credit for 219 days served in jail. He was also ordered to pay $266 in fines and costs. One count of assault by strangulation and one count of habitual offender, fourth offense, were dismissed. In the probation violation case, Luft yielded two prison terms of two to 15 years with credit for 305 days served in jail. He pled guilty Tuesday. He was also ordered to pay $1,269 in fines, costs and restitution, and his probation was revoked. The probation stems from Jan. 8, 2013 convictions of second-offense domestic violence and assault – weapon.

– Robert Kenneth Wabsis, Jr., 43, of 1430 S. Walhalla Rd., Walhalla, was found guilty June 26 of operating under the influence of liquor (OUIL), third offense, and habitual offender, fourth conviction. He was sentenced to a minimum of one year and six months to a maximum of 15 years with an MDOC prison with credit for six days served in jail and $348 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of driving while license suspended (DWLS), second offense, was dismissed.

Donahue

– Michael Brandon Donahue, 30, of 1101 S. Washington Ave., Ludington, was found guilty July 8 of larceny of a firearm and weapon – alter ID marks. He was sentenced to two concurrent one-year jail sentences with credit for 37 days served; serve five months up front; balance to be served at the court’s discretion; one year probation; and $798 in fines and costs. One count of felony firearms was dismissed.

Joseph Scott Summerskill, 29, of 766 N. 176th Ave., Walkerville, was found guilty June 26 of obstruction of justice. He was sentenced to one year in jail with credit for 104 days served; serve 10 months up front; balance to be served at the court’s discretion; two years probation; and $698 in fines and costs. One count of habitual offender, third offense, was dismissed.
