Juvenile may be charged for stealing car

RIVERTON TWP. — A 15-year-old boy is a suspect in a stolen car incident that took place early Wednesday morning. At 2:08 a.m., deputies from Mason County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Indian Summer in the 3900 block of West Chauvez Road for a report of someone unlawfully driving away a vehicle from the parking lot. The 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis was later recovered at the corner of Chauvez and Darr roads in Custer Township, about 6 miles away. The 15-year-old boy was found hiding in the woods. Sheriff Kim Cole said the report has been forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office and Mason County Juvenile Court.

The sheriff’s office also responded to a separate incident, a report of malicious destruction of property to a vehicle at 7:10 a.m. in the 3600 block of Hidden Forest, Amber Twp. The rear window of the caller’s vehicle was broken out.carter_080114
