California man arrested for drunk driving, among weekend’s arrests

BRANCH TWP. — A 30-year-old Newport Beach, California man was arrested by Mason County sheriff’s deputies early Sunday morning for having a high blood alcohol content. He was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, first offense and high BAC following a traffic stop at Walhalla and Shreck roads at 12:23 a.m. While deputies were on a the traffic stop, an 18-year-old Fountain man walked up to the stop and then was cited with minor in possession at 12:50 a.m.

July 18:

– 1:59 a.m.: Trespassing, 3600 block of West Dewey Rd., Victory Twp. Case pending.

– 3:17 p.m.: A 30-year-old Scottville woman was arrested for retail fraud at Family Dollar, 5800 block of West U.S. 10, Pere Marquette Twp.,  following an investigation.

– 8:54 p.m.: Found tools, U.S. 10 and Meyers Rd., Pere Marquette Twp.

– 10:19 p.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, U.S. 31 and Fountain Rd., Sherman Twp.

July 19:

– 4:03 a.m.: Alarm activation, 100 block of West Hoague Rd., Grant Twp.

– 4:38 a.m.: Alarm activation, 3800 block of West U.S. 10, Amber Twp.

– 9:45 a.m.: Two vehicle rear-end crash, minor injuries, U.S. 10 and Meyers Rd., P.M. Twp.

– 11:03 a.m.: Two vehicle rear-end crash, minor injuries, U.S. 10 east of Stiles Rd., Amber Twp.

– 12:03 p.m.: Larceny of a trailer, 6800 block of South Lakeshore Dr., Summit Twp. A 5-foot by 8-foot carry-on black trailer was stolen from the residence.

– 5:56 p.m.: Harassment, U.S. 10 and Hansen Rd., Amber Twp.

– 6:17 p.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Fountain and Tuttle roads, Sherman Twp.

– 8:28 p.m.: A 49-year-old Fountain woman was arrested for OWI first offense/High BAC following a traffic stop on Wever Rd. near Campbell Rd., Branch Twp.

– 9:41 p.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 and Darr Rd., Custer Twp.

– 10:51 p.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Custer and Fountain roads, Sherman Twp.

July 20:

– 2:50 a.m.: An 18-year-old Fountain man and an 18-year-old Branch man were each cited for MIP following a traffic stop at Sugar Grove and Morse roads.

– 9 a.m.: Vehicle/tree crash, on injuries, Wilson and Poplar roads, Custer Twp.

– 8:09 p.m.: Assist to Michigan State Police, 1200 block of North Tuttle Rd., Custer Twp.

– 8:49 p.m.: Disturbance, 7100 block of Stalberg Rd., Sheridan Twp.
