79th District Court sentencings

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 79th District Court:

– Corey Evan Carsten, 28, homeless, was found guilty July 1 of disorderly person, public intoxication. He was sentenced to 20 days in jail with credit for 20 days served; $285 in fines and costs; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and no alcohol/drugs.

– Roger Lee Comstock, 50, of 321 N. James St., Apt. 1, Ludington, was found guilty July 3 of disorderly person – drunk. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $280 in fines and costs; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and no alcohol.

– Scott Marvin Stillson, 42, of 201 E. Fifth St., Scottville, was found guilty July 1 of operating while intoxicated, second offense. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; no alcohol/drugs; must complete Impact Weekend within four months to avoid serving balance of jail sentence; must attend AA twice a week for two years; must be on Soberlink for year and court may extend time period if necessary; and $1,293 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

– Nathan Lee Drier, 21, of 3312 E. Johnson Rd., Custer, was found guilty July 1 of operating while impaired by liquor. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend the next Victims’ Impact Panel; must attend Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); and $658 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Troy Alan Highland, 33, of 4791 W. Tyler Rd., Hart, was guilty July 1 of operating while impaired by liquor. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days days discretionary jail for one year; AHSE; must attend Victims’ Impact Panel; court reserves the right to order a no-alcohol provision as its discretion; and $658 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Kyle James Bellgowan, 24, of 509 S. Morton St., St. Johns, Mich., was found guilty July 1 of disorderly person – drunk. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; no contact with victim; and $493 in fines and costs. One count of assault and battery was dismissed.

Dismissal

– Yesenia Rodriguez, 34, of 3241 N. 72nd Ave., Lot #31, Hart, one count of receiving and concealing stolen property under $200 was dismissed July 8. “People unable to prove this matter beyond a reasonable doubt at this time,” court records state.
