Scottville man arrested after roadside nap

VICTORY TWP. — An evening nap alongside the road got a 41-year-old Scottville man arrested early Sunday morning. Deputies from Mason County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the intersection of U.S. 31 and Sugar Grove Road at 12:32 a.m. for a report of a person lying alongside the road. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the man was wanted on a warrant from Scottville Police Department for failure to pay fines and costs. The man then spent the rest of his evening lying on a bed at the Mason County Jail.

– 6:45 p.m.: Trespassing, 200 block of North Meyers Rd., Amber Twp. Two tents found set up on caller’s property.

– 10 p.m.: Alarm activation, 2300 block of West U.S. 10, Amber Twp.

June 28, 2014:

– 5:40 p.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Free Soil and Larson roads, Meade Twp.

– 9:30 p.m.: A 20-year-old Kalkaska man was arrested for possession of marijuana following a traffic stop at U.S. 10-31 and Amber Rd., Amber Twp.

June 29, 2014:

– 12:07 a.m.: An 18-year-old Muskegon man was cited for minor in possession of alcohol following a traffic stop at U.S. 10 and Main St., Village of Custer.

– 12:24 a.m.: A warrant has been requested for the arrest of a 42-year-old Ludington man for DWLS following a traffic stop at U.S. 10 and Tuttle Rd., Custer Twp.

– 6:15 a.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Scottville and Meisenheimer roads, Riverton Twp.

– 5:59 p.m. Two vehicle broadside crash, Morton Road north of Washington Road, Riverton Twp. A 41-year-old Muskegon woman was transported to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Also responding were Riverton Fire Dept., Ludington Fire Dept. and Life EMS.

– 8:02 p.m.: A 49-year-old Ludington man was arrested for marijuana possession following a traffic stop at South Lakeshore Dr. and Iris Rd., P.M. Twp.

– 8:08 p.m.: Breaking and entering to a garage, 5500 block of Rasmussen Rd., P.M. Twp. Back pack blowers and cordless drill stolen.

– 10:23 p.m.: Two vehicle crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 and Meyers Rd., P.M. Twp.
