SCOTTVILLE — The City of Scottville is going to tighten up parking restrictions in the railroad right-of-way along West First Street. City Manager Amy Williams said that newer residents in that area have been parking their vehicles and “toys” in the grassy area, particularly west of Scott Street.

City Commission approved amending the city’s ordinance banning parking in that area. Williams said the exception will be during the annual Scottville Harvest Festival.

The city also amended the ordinance restricted parking in front of a residence on West Maple Street across from Scottville Elementary. Williams said the police department had placed a temporary order on that area a couple years ago but the commission never officially changed the ordinance.
