The area is under a wind advisory from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. The following has been issued by the National Weather Service:

Mason, MI;  Lake, MI;  Osceola, MI;  Oceana, MI;  Newaygo, MI;  Mecosta, MI;  Muskegon, MI;  Montcalm, MI; Ottawa, MI;  Kent, MI;  Ionia, MI;  Allegan, MI;  Barry, MI;  Van Buren, MI;  Kalamazoo, MI

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND RAPIDS HAS ISSUED A WIND ADVISORY… WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM TO 8 PM EDT MONDAY.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER…

* EASTERLY WINDS WILL INCREASE MONDAY MORNING WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 45 MPH EXPECTED BY NOON. THE STRONG WIND GUSTS WILL LAST THROUGH THE AFTERNOON.

* WINDS WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH MONDAY EVENING.

IMPACTS…

* SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES ARE LIKELY TO OCCUR.

* TRAVEL COULD BECOME DIFFICULT FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES ESPECIALLY ON NORTH/SOUTH ROADS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

* WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT… ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
