Free Soil man arrested for assault

FREE SOIL TWP. — A 57-year-old Free Soil man was arrested by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday night for assault. The incident occurred around 10:58 p.m. on East Sauble Road. Other activity of the MCSO for Wednesday, April 9, 2014 included:

– 9:35 a.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Hawley and Indian Trail roads, Eden Twp.

– 12:42 p.m.: Retail fraud investigation, Wal-Mart, 4800 block of West U.S. 10, Pere Marquette Twp. A 55-year-old Ludington man and a 51-year-old Ludington woman are suspects in the complaint, which has been turned over to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office.

– 12:56 p.m.: Threats complaint, 4600 block of East Hawley Road, Eden Twp.

– 5:15 p.m.: Personal protection order violation, U.S. 10 and Nelson Rd., P.M. Twp.
