laca logoLUDINGTON – Ludington Area Center for the Arts will be holding its next workshop for teens and tweens on Wednesday, March 26 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.  Children ages 12 and up are invited to drop in and learn about finger and arm knitting. It’s fun and easy and no previous knitting experience is necessary.  Participants are asked to bring yarn to this workshop, if possible.  The LACA yarn selection is limited.

Wednesday Workshops are continuing in April and May.  Scheduled sessions include:

Sketchy Second Wednesday Workshops

  • April 9:  explore more interesting ways to doodle and begin looking at, and talking about, the art of cartooning.

  • May 14: In this final Sketchy Second session of the workshop series, look at various cartooning styles such as Anime and Manga as well as classic comics and caricatures – choose a style to try!

Fiber Fourth Wednesday Workshops

  • April 23: Cool crafts with Yarn, Fabric and Mod Podge!

  • May 28: “Knot your Grannie’s Knit and Crochet”. In this final Fiber Fourth session of the workshop series, look at how today’s artists are taking knitting and crochet to the next level in unexpected ways – and come up with your own fun and funky projects. Info on how you can learn to knit and crochet will be discussed as well.

All workshops are held on the second floor of LACA in the Craft Room from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Pre-registration with signed parental consent is required.  Please call 231-845-2787 ext. 11 or send an email to [email protected]
