Harris-Walton.

An engagement story.

Samantha Danielle Harris and Tyler John Walton, both of Ludington, will get married on October 18, 2014 at Mason County Reformed Church in Amber Township.

Tyler didn’t let a little flu stop him from asking Samantha to marry him.

“I was extremely sick with the flu and had fallen asleep,” Samantha recalls. “Tyler said he needed to make a phone call so he was going to step outside, I was sick so I didn’t ask any questions. I had fallen asleep and when he came inside he woke me up and was shaking.

“I asked him why he was shaking and I can’t really remember his answer. That’s when he asked, ‘Do you want me to make your day better?’

“At first, I said no because I was not up for anything eventful but, I am a sucker for a surprise.

“He asked me to stand up and walk over to our dining room. He had me close my eyes and because of my fever, it wasn’t working out so well and I was getting dizzy. I told Ty I was going to sit down in the chair before I fell over. He was monkeying around with something, but still wouldn’t let me open my eyes. Finally, he said, ‘Open your eyes.’ When I opened my eyes I saw the love of my life, down on one knee and he said, ‘Samantha Danielle Harris will you marry me?’

I proceeded to say, ‘Shut the front door!’ And pushed the ring away in disbelief. And of course, I said yes!!!”
