The crash occurred around 3:40 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 10-31 and Amber Road. Daniel VanDusen, who was riding with a group of other snowmobiles, attempted to cross U.S. 10-31 when his sled was struck by a west-bound car driven by Kelly Knutson of Victory Township.

VanDusen, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the sled. Knutson’s vehicle sustained considerable damage from the crash but was not injured.

VanDusen was transported to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital where he received treatment for his injuries. A relative told MCP that he was doing well.

Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Scottville Fire Dept., Custer Fire Dept. and Life EMS responded. No other details were available.
