13 sentenced in 79th District Court this past week

LUDINGTON – The following defendants were sentenced this past week in 79th District Court:
–         Kayla Ann-Marie Jowers, 20, of 112 4th St., Ludington, was found guilty Jan. 17 of under 21 – purchase, consume and/or possess and sentenced to $265 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
–         Myron Buck Duane, 18, of 2473 W. Northland Dr., Baldwin was found guilty Jan. 16 of smoking, use/possession tobacco by a minor and sentenced to three months probation and 20 hours of community service.
–         Kendra Kay Lamunyon, 45, of 1501 Lakeshore Dr., Manistee, was found guilty Jan. 14 of operating while intoxicated, second offense, DWLS. She was sentenced to two jail sentences of two days with credit for two days served; $1,825 in fines and costs; Soberlink for one year; must continue out-patient counseling until enrolling in inpatient treatment; must attend Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) twice a week for one year; must attend Impact Weekend if she does not enter inpatient treatment; and no alcohol/drugs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of transporting open intoxicants in a vehicle was dismissed.
–         Matthew David Jones, 35, of 980 W. 1st St., Scottville, was found guilty Jan. 14 of operating while impaired by liquor. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $1,145 in fines and costs; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and must attend next session of Victims Impact Panel. Conviction reportable to SOS.
–         William Charles Jones, 34, of 121 W. State St., Scottville, was found guilty Jan. 14 of DWLS. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; $740 in fines and costs; and one year discretionary jail for two years. Conviction reportable to SOS.
–         Demetrius Darnell Jamason, 27, of 405 S. Madison, Apt. 2, Ludington, was found guilty Jan. 14 of domestic violence, second offense, and controlled substance, possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to 32 days in jail with credit for 32 days served; $1,160 in fines and costs; one year discretionary jail for two years for each count; no contact with victim; and must not possess any weapons. Driver’s license suspended 180 days, restricted 150 days.
–         Robert Wayne Johnson, 44, of 657j1 Sherman St., Fountain, was found guilty Jan. 14 of retail fraud, second degree. He was sentenced to $740 in fines and costs; one year discretionary for two years; and must attend Economic Crime Program.
–         Eleasar Esparza, 22, of 5634 W. Johnson Rd., Ludington, was found guilty Jan. 14 of operating while intoxicated or under a controlled substance. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; $1,245 in fines and costs; outpatient treatment; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend next session of the Victims Impact Panel; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs). One count of operating with a blood alcohol level of .17 or more was dismissed.
–         Jack Walter Larson, 56, of 4336 S. Ordway Rd., Custer, was found guilty Jan. 14 of controlled substance, possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; $580 in fines and costs; one year discretionary jail for one year; must have a substance abuse evaluation and follow recommendations; no alcohol/drugs; and driver’s license suspended 180 days/ restricted 150 days.
–         Jacob David Bentz, 19, of 56 S. Quarterline Rd., Scottville, was found guilty Jan. 14 of alcohol/minor in possession (MIP), third offense. He was sentenced to $580 in fines and costs; 60 days discretionary jail for two years; no alcohol/drugs; must have substance abuse evaluation and follow recommendations; and subject to random PBTs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
–         Richard Lewis VanOrder, 53, of 683 Lincoln Rd., Otsego, was found guilty Jan. 16 of possession of undersize fish and sentenced to $220 in fines and costs.
–         Daniel Leon King, 31, of 5926 W. Meisenheimer Rd., Ludington, was found guilty Jan. 16 of DWLS. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $275 in fines and costs; and 30 days discretionary jail for one year. Conviction reportable to SOS.
–         Stephanie Renee Billow, 44, of 906 N. Rath Ave., Ludington, was found guilty Jan. 16 of fishing without a license and sentenced to $250 in fines and costs.
Dismissal
–         Autumn Rae Cruz, one count of controlled substance, delivery/manufacture, was dismissed Jan. 21. Bond/bail is continued on remaining charge.
